Find Your Accountability Partner

Because building a business is easier—and more powerful—when you’re not doing it alone.

This weekend, I’m headed to Atlanta to meet up with a few women who’ve become a vital part of my entrepreneurial journey. If you’re looking to enhance your own journey, it might be time to find your accountability partner. We’re not in business together. Each of us has our own project—but we show up for one another in a way that changes everything. They are my “Acountability Partners.”

We meet via video conference regularly and in person for a long weekend once or twice a year. Find your ideal accountability partner for sharing ideas, asking for feedback, challenging each other, and keeping each other on track. We celebrate the wins and work through the hard stuff. That’s the magic of having an accountability partner, someone who helps you move forward, not just cheer you on from the sidelines.

Having this kind of support has become an incredable asset and helps keep me focused on my goals. I’m always excited for these weekends like we were back in college hunkered down, getting ready for our final exams. We even leave the nights for exploring the city, go for walks or just have a girls night in – playing catchup on our lives outside of work.

I highly recommend this for anyone who is going at this solo. But don’t just chose anyone, take some time to think about what you need and who would be the best fit when you’re looking to find your accountability partner.

Here’s what makes a great accountability partner:

✔️ Mutual commitment. You’re both in it to grow. You show up, you follow through, and you hold space for each other to stretch.

✔️ Open communication. You can offer honest, constructive feedback—and receive it—with trust and respect.

✔️ Similar stage, shared ambition. You don’t have to be in the same industry, but it helps if you’re in a similar season or working toward growth in a meaningful way.

✔️ Encouragement + objectivity. A great partner sees your potential, even when you forget it—but also calls you back when you drift off course.

If you don’t have someone like this yet, now’s the time to find your accountability partner. Join communities, show up consistently, and don’t be afraid to ask someone if they’ll be open to a regular check-in. You’d be surprised how many women are looking for the same kind of connection.

P.S. If you’re ready to find your own accountability partner, I created a free fillable worksheet down below in the toolkit. This will help you reflect on what you need, define your ideal partnership, and start taking action. It’s designed to guide you step-by-step—whether you’re looking to meet someone new or strengthen an existing relationship.
